cultured lifestyle if we don't expose ourselves

They Don't Really Care About Us"There are just as much slums are there are cities, beaches, and jungles. I met some wild Aussie guys that said they went to the favela parties: "Cocaine and kids with machine guys." They said they didn't feel threatened by the people living in the favelas, and that the parties were fun. Fortunately, my only experience at a favela was one cleared of drug-lords as accompanied by a UCLA professor with our study group. There's a favela tour you can take outside of Rio that leads right up to a Michael Jackson statue, dedicated to the king of pop. It's not as big as the Christ Statue, but it's worth checking out.You need to see the favelas. Not as a human-zoo. As people, we deny ourselves a knowledgeable, cultured lifestyle if we don't expose ourselves to the dangers of indifference. Physically stepping onto the grounds of extreme poverty is a metaphorical step towards self-awareness, compassion, and kindness. 4. The Music, Food, and NightlifeStrawberry sushi, churrascarias, agua de coco, acai bowls, cafe, and capirinias along some samba? You'll start speaking Portuguese too.Not to mention, Brazil hosts some fantastic festivals.Check out these bars and restaurants in Rio, as recommended by Paulo del Valle:"Doing Rio Right - A Look at the Locals' Best Bars and Restaurants"5. The Richness in ArtI wasn't kidding about the colors. There's as much vivacity to the buildings, streets, and artisan work as there is to the people, music, and gastronomy. Live on. Get your Brazil on. Obrigado Brasil.[Thank you Brazil].An Original TRAVELBREAK Post by Stephanie Be, with photos by Paulo del Valle. Follow his famous Instagram, and check out his Facebook, Twitter, and Google +. Photo of Iguazu Falls by German Vogel. Call it a curse. Call it bad luck. Blame it on the ref. For the sixth straight World Cup, Mexico crashed out in dramatic fashion in the Round of 16, leaving Mexicans bewildered at its national team's chronic inability to win the crucial fourth game (Mexico has done it only buy fifa coins once, in 1986, at home). The similarity of some of these defeats is scary. In 1998, Mexico also built up an early second-half lead against Germany only to squander it 15 minutes before the final whistle. And in 2006, Mexico also struck first against a powerful Argentina squad which tied it shortly afterwards. The game was then dragged into overtime during which an impressive strike by Maxi Rodriguez (later voted goal of the tournament) sent us packing home. History seemed to repeat itself on Sunday in the steamy equatorial heat of Fortaleza after Holland erased a Mexican lead at the 88th minute, and then scored a winner in stoppage time on a questionable penalty.
