The most prominent connective structure in the human brain is the corpus callous, a wide, flat bundle of more than 200 million contra lateral axons, which connect the left and right cerebral hemispheres (Lauders et al., 2010). The corpus callous begins to differentiate as Geniux a commissural plate around week 8. In the human embryo, the earliest colossal axons appear around week 12, and the adult colossal morphology is achieved around week 20 (Acheron and Acheron, 2001). Agenesis of the corpus callous, a rare but severe congenital disorder in which the corpus callous is partially or completely absent, is often associated with profound intellectual disabilities (Palmer and Moat, 2014).
