he Adios is Adidas ZX 750 Homme Vente adidas¡¯ distance racing flat. It¡¯s a shoe that can be found on the feet of many of the top elite adidas sponsored marathoners, and last year they released a version with a midsole composed of their recently introduced Boost material. I¡¯d heard a lot of positive praise for the shoe from friends, and despite the fact that it had a higher drop than I typically prefer in a speed shoe (10mm), I wound up loving the ride. In fact, along with the New Balance 1400v2 and Newton Energy, the Adios Boost was one of my top 3 road shoes from 2013.

If I had to compare the adidas Gazelle to another shoe, the closest I could come up with is the Saucony Hattori LC. Both are crazy comfortable shoes with a stretch upper, and both feel great on the run. If it weren¡¯t for the hot spots I get in the Hattori¡¯s under the balls behind my big toes I¡¯d have a really tough time recommending one over the other, but given that Adidas ZX 850 Homme Pas Cher issue for me the Gazelles are the more versatile shoe. Both are fantastic for walk around use and short runs, but I can do ten miles in the Gazelles (including speed work) with no problems and that tips the scales.

The biggest change adidas made to the XT 5 outsole from v4 was that they significantly reduced the lug depth for v5. I think this was a good call as it makes the shoe run much closer to its road counterparts than the older XT models. It has sufficient traction for technical terrain, but it handles hardpack great and even runs ok on the road.

Adidas Adios 2 HeelOne thing that I do like about the heel of the Adios is that the posterolateral heel is sculpted upward just a bit (see photo at left ¨C the region under the black portion of the midsole). That is, the lateral portion of the heel does not rest flush with the ground when the shoe is placed on a flat surface, and this may help to avoid premature contact of the heel with the ground on the run.

Over the past 2+ years I¡¯ve probably run in 50 or more different shoes, but until recently none of them were made by Adidas. I was recently asked if there was a particular reason why I was avoiding the brand, and the honest answer was that there was no reason, I¡¯d just never had the opportunity to try them. I don¡¯t know if it¡¯s that Adidas running shoes seem to be more popular overseas than they are here in the US, but Adidas has never been a brand that I tend to think of when it comes to running shoes.

I will say that the upper construction could use some work (which I feel is somewhat true for many of adidas¡¯ shoes); mainly in the area of decreasing stitching and using a slightly ¡°softer¡± feeling mesh. That being said, the upside of their upper construction is that it is simple, breathable and likely keeps th Adidas ZX Flux Homme Pas Cher e cost down ($100 retail for this shoe which is great).
