Inside the Captain Cook MK II ticks the same C07.611 movement used in the first-gen Hyperchrome Captain Cook, and in other Swatch Group watches from Tissot, Mido and Hamilton. With 80 hours of power reserve and highly anti-magnetic escapement, it’s a fine motor for an affordable sports watch. Rado wisely chose to hide away this workhorse movement behind a decidedly retro caseback decorated with three seahorses, straight off the vintage version.They are great watches to wear, they are vintage but with a contemporary look, and their design is timeless. However, I do not understand a lot of the crazy prices of the models manufactured in the last 15 years!By shortening the contact surface of the waiting pallet and adding the indirect impulse surface, the impulse-generating escape wheel starts moving before it's finally released. This significantly shortens the distance that the escape wheel must travel before reaching the impulse pallet.
