Mother-of-13 wants IVF for Xmas
A Lanarkshire woman, who already has 13 children with her husband, wants IVF as her Christmas gift this year.Debbie Simpson, 45, has decided to opt for the treatment after she failed to fall pregnant quickly for the first time in her life.Although she has spent some 10 years of her life pregnant, Debbie feels that there are still chances of growing her family.She said: "Having babies is my job. I love it and I'll keep trying until I'm 60. We didn't plan to have such a big family, it just kind of happened because there was no reason to stop."It's never taken me longer than six months to fall pregnant when we stop using contraception."Adding to this her husband Derek, who is a part-time civil servant, said: "We don't feel as if our family is complete yet." The couple from East Kilbride are parents to Chloe, 23, Kimberly, 21, Natalie, 18, Benjamin, 16, Cameron, 15, Christopher, 13, Amy, 12, Nathan, 11, Lewis, nine, Jade, eight, Celeste, six, Olias, five and Orlando, three. The pair are now stashing money to have IVF done privately - at a cost of £5,000.Debbie added: "There's only a three per cent chance of falling pregnant at my age, but that's better than nothing.
