Paul woman accused of stealing

Marsha Truskolaski was supposed to look after her legally blind 75 year old mother's health and finances.

Instead, she stole more than $220,000 to use on vacations, jewelry and a swimming pool, investigators allege in a criminal complaint filed Wednesday in Ramsey County District Court. Her mother has since had to move out of her residence because she could no longer afford it.

"I don't understand how someone could do this to their own mother," Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner said. "The allegations are the ultimate violation of financial trust."

Prosecutors charged Truskolaski, 42, by summons with one count of felony theft by swindle. She was not arrested as pandora bracelets kays jewelry for sale of Wednesday evening.

The North St. Paul woman denied wrongdoing when police questioned her. She could not be reached for comment.

Truskolaski's brother contacted police last summer, alleging that Truskolaski was bilking their mother, according to the pandora clips-sterling silver clearance complaint. The two children shared power of attorney over their mother's health and financial matters from 2003 until 2007.

Their mother, Norlinda pandora murano glass beads 100% genuine Aspelund, moved out of her assisted living community in White Bear Lake because of the financial loss, the complaint said. The Golden Valley care center she moved into said Wednesday that she was no longer a resident. Attempts to reach her were unsuccessful.

The mother told police in January she learned Truskolaski had used the credit card to pay for home improvements and her own personal expenses, including a ring from a jewelry store, the complaint said. She also did not approve or know about payments for private school tuition for Truskolaski's children, weight loss programs or car payments.

Norlinda Aspelund told investigators that "when it comes to her money she's clear as a whistle," the complaint said. She would not have given permission for the transactions and then forgotten she had done so.

During an interview with police, she apologized for her appearance and said she could not afford to get her hair or nails done, the complaint pandora murano glass beads 100% genuine said. She also said she had few clothes and might have to receive public assistance.

Aspelund wants Truskolaski prosecuted for taking her "money and her life away," the complaint said.

When questioned, Pandora Sale Truskolaski said her mother was forgetful and needed help signing for purchases because she was blind, according to the criminal complaint. She also said her mother gave her permission to buy items.

Her mother "agreed to pay for the vacation trips, the in ground pool and home improvements to her house and everything else that was purchased," Truskolaski told police, the complaint said.

The case is particularly egregious given the amount that was allegedly stolen, Gaertner said.

"It certainly is on the extravagant side in terms of the purchases that were made, but in many ways, it's a classic case of elder abuse, elder exploitation," she said.
