Scotland's oldest man turns 106
Sam Latter has seen more than a century of fighting, football, business and live.The oldest man in Scotland celebrated his 106th birthday on Monday by recalling tales from his long life to his relatives and friends.Sam was born on January 4, 1904, in Glasgow as the son of a Jewish immigrant master tailor and spent his childhood there.One of his early memories is that of his brother wanting a kilt."My brother Wee Alfie wanted this kilt and my father wouldn't make him one. He said it would take 12 yards of material and he could make three suits with that."The First World War broke out and Alfie went north to join the Gordon Highlanders. I said 'what for?' and he said 'because they wear kilts'," the pint-sized grandfather said.
