Slowly but surely, you may start to see some loose themes emerging in our pre-owned selections. In our last drop, things skewed a touch more classical but remained well-rounded with a handful of experimental pieces. If the images haven't tipped you off yet, this week, we're link highlighting color – blue and, to a lesser extent, grey.Here we have a funky, blue and red Solar Speedtimer Chronograph, with its tachymeter-bezel on the wrist of Tarform founder and CEO Taras Kravtchouk near the brand's headquarters in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Where the watch takes some vintage cues from a fairly groovy decade, the bikes have a much more industrial feel – an aesthetic inspired by a combination of deco-futurism and a 1940s-era design ethos.Of course, we have to talk about the date placement. The date window sits at 12 o'clock and actually plays with the rest of the dial relatively well. But part of this is because when the chronograph hand is zeroed out, it partially blocks the window, making it difficult to read. The positive spin on this, if you don't really like date windows, is that it almost makes the watch feel like a no-date proposition. The critical (and more realistic) take is that it's basically a design flaw.
