I was able to handle the new watch and speak with both Pagès and Massena about its production and development a few weeks ago. Here's what I learned.Image 15 shows a selection of colorful agendas in chronological order: 1906, 1924, 1939, and 1953. The movement is the Oris automatic caliber 733, which is based on the Selita SW 200-1. Notice this isn't a nep acne studios stop-seconds chronograph, but rather a time-and-date model that can use the inner bezel for timing events.Another reason I like A. Lange & Söhne is because the brand and the people at the company feel authentic. I've been to Saxony to see the manufacture and everything there feels true to itself. It's not trying to create some feeling about who it is based on market research. In an era where everything feels like marketing strategy, Lange just feels right.Countless modern quartz and digital watches include everything from a basic compass to a GPS, but GPS didn't become commercially available until 1983 and didn’t start being practically accessible and portable for the general public until the late 1990s. Plus there were technical challenges to installing a compass inside a watch.So he did – and his cold-call worked. The duo's first collaboration came later that same year at Only Watch 2019, where the very first Akrivia watch with a Hagmann case was also Rexhepi's inaugural contribution to the biennial charity auction.
