The dial and case of the watch itself are what you'd expect from a good pocket watch of the era; in fact, the dial and hands are a little more ornate than you'd ordinarily expect from a precision watch of the 1880s or '90s. Still, the quality of the case and the dial work would tend to make you think that something a little special is under the hood.
