Rolex Explorer so many people. It does everything just slightly better than it needs to. That has made it immensely popular since the 2006 launch of the first three Alpinist models. Of those three, one model stood out: the SARB017 with a green dial and gold markers.On wrist, you might be surprised by how the Oceanographer GMT feels compared to its measurements, this is thanks to its cushion-shaped case. As with past models of the Oceanographer and indeed similar case shapes from brands like Doxa or Zodiac, the 41mm sizing and not inconsiderable thickness of 14.6mm is well balanced by the very short lug-to-lug length of the case.This watch was also featured in the Japanese publication Time Spec Magazine Issue No. 8 (Watches of the World). The story goes that a Japanese collector, Mr. Yamanaka, found this watch by chance at a knife show in New York and he managed to purchase it after a lengthy negotiation with an American Rolex dealer. The beautiful engraving covering the entire watch was done by Marcello Pedini, a renowned Italian knife engraver.
A slightly larger case than the first edition
Gucci Dive (43mm vs 42mm) is now housing a mechanical chronograph movement, based on Sellita's caliber SW 510.Since the model’s debut, it has stormed to the top, and now the collection consists of no fewer than 58 references.Worth noting is the fact that on the warranty papers, the watch was said to have been retailed by the “Navy Exchange,” which presumably means the watch has naval provenance, which is surely an added bonus to an already handsome timepiece. Sadly, the contract never materialized due to budgetary issues, but the watch lived on and
