Unseen: Netflix Reveals the Trailer for the Thrilling Upcoming South African Series Movie

The upcoming Netflix murder mystery series, Unseen, stars Gail Mabalane as the protagonist.

Unseen is a South African crime series set to be released by Netflix, which will challenge viewers to rethink those who come to help around the home with manual labor. As part of the teaser, two detectives surround a casually dressed woman in an interrogation room, questioning her about violent killings. When asked who she is, the woman answers, "I am just the cleaner."

Despite the woman's attempts to deny responsibility for the crime and her seemingly innocent appearance, she may or may not have been involved in the violent incidents. In the trailer, some scenes will leave the audience wondering if she actually committed these crimes or if she is telling the truth. In addition, other scenes indicate that the detectives may very well be correct in their suspicions. As one of the characters tells her, "You're the invisible woman. Nobody sees you, nobody cares about you." it makes sense to think that workers like her have a natural ability to be overlooked.

As a result, this could give her the opportunity to provide information about the guilty party. Despite this, the woman is also shown washing blood off her hands, which leads to even more theories. This piece of evidence suggests that the cleaner and her associate were responsible for the accident. One of the investigators, upon learning of these facts, asked the victims if they were involved in anything related to the crimes in any way.

Gail Mabalane is a South African actress who will play the lead role in this suspenseful series. She has starred in several shows, including The Wild and The Road, but is also best known for her role in the Netflix show Blood & Water. In this teen drama, Mabalane portrays the role of a mother desperately searching for her missing child. Mabalane's powerful performance highlights the dark world of child trafficking in this story.

Unseen was created by Travis Taute and Daryne Joshua and is set to premiere on Netflix on Mar. 29. Throughout the show, the audience will gain insight into the "invisible" workers who remain unnoticed and unappreciated for the work they do on behalf of the wealthy. Aside from Mabalane, the cast includes Brendon Daniels and Hein De Vries in the lead roles. You can get a glimpse of the show and what to expect by checking the teaser below.

Celebrated filmmaker David Fincher has some bad news for Mindhunter fans who continue to wait patiently for a third season – it's not going to happen. Not at Netflix, anyway. Speaking with the French publication Le Journal du Dimanche, Fincher revealed that Mindhunter Season 3 is currently a pipe dream, with the critically acclaimed series not gaining enough of an audience to justify a continuation. As Fincher explains it...

While this is sure to come as a devastating blow to those longing for the continued adventures of FBI Agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench, Fincher does not hold any ill will towards Netflix over their hesitance to bring the show back.

Created by Joe Penhall and based on the 1995 true-crime book "Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit" written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker, and guided (as well as partly directed) by Se7en and Gone Girl filmmaker David Fincher, Mindhunter details the early days of criminal psychology and criminal profiling at the FBI, revolving around FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) as they interview several high-profile serial killers in an attempt to understand their psychology and hopefully stop similar crimes from happening in the future.

Lasting two seasons, which landed on Netflix in 2017 and 2019 respectively, and both of which have been met with rave reviews, word of a third season has come and gone...and then come back again over the last few years. Sadly, it sounds like Fincher has put Mindhunter Season 3 to bed, meaning there will be no more interviews for Ford and Tench.

Mindhunter director Andrew Dominik has previously revealed what would have happened in the third season. And you may as well read what he had to say now seeing as Mindhunter Season 3 is not going to happen. "What they were going to do with Season 3 was they were going to go [to] Hollywood,” he revealed. “So one of them was going to be hooking up with Jonathan Demme and the other one was going to be hooking up with Michael Mann. And it was all going to be about profiling making it into the sort of zeitgeist, the public consciousness. It would've been... That was the season everyone was really waiting for to do, with when they sort of get out of the basement and start."

While it sounds like Mindhunter will never return to Netflix, David Fincher will, with the director having directed the upcoming neo-noir action thriller The Killer for the streaming platform. Directed by David Fincher and written by Andrew Kevin Walker, The Killer is based on the French graphic novel series of the same name by Alexis Nolent. Starring Michael Fassbender as Christian, aka The Killer, the story is expected to stick close to the source material and follow a solitary, cold, methodical killer unencumbered by scruples or regrets and details a case study of “a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.”
