I am getting into ice fishing and want to start doing overnighters on the lake to catch the early morning bite. I have a pop-up hub but it has no floor and gets freezing cold. I want something more substantial where I can sleep comfortably. What kind of tent do serious ice anglers use for sleeping on the ice?

If you are sleeping on the ice, you need isolation and heat. A simple pop-up isn't enough. You need a hot tent with stove capability. I use a setup from RBM Outdoors that has a floor (which I insulate with foam mats) and a stove jack. Being able to fire up a small titanium wood stove makes the interior toasty warm, even when it is -20 outside on the lake. You can cook your catch right on the stove. The RBM tents are heavy-duty enough to block the wind that whips across the frozen lake. Just make sure you use ice screws to anchor it down. It turns a freezing ordeal into a really cozy, enjoyable camping trip. You will sleep like a baby.
