A critique in the action inside the French Coupe de la Ligue

Mamadou N'Diaye's 12th-minute target temporarily drew Montpellier level following Jeannot's opener and Souleymane Camara's late effort set up a tense finish but Lorient held on to reach the subsequent round.

Lille fought back from a goal down to beat Troyes 2-1 thanks to second-half goals from Stopilla Sunzu and Sehrou Guirassy.

A stoppage-time strike from Alexandre Mendy earned Good a 2-1 win at Caen in another absorbing all-Ligue 1 contest.

First-half objectives from Lois Diony and Jeremy Bela earned Ligue two outfit Dijon a 2-1 win more than top-flight side Reims, for whom Gaetan Charbonnier was on target.

The early game amongst Ligue 1 rivals Ajaccio and Guingamp was abandoned due to negative weather within the 54th minute with all the scores tied at 2-2 and can be replayed at a later date.
