In terms of design, the latest iteration has all the good things true divers, as well as more terrestrial beings, like about this kind of tool watch: a
Virtual Mobile Infrastructure rotating bezel with a 60-minute timer, some large and legible hour markers, hands filled with Superluminova, and proven water resistance. The watch you see here is the ref. 124060, the newest iteration of the stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner without a date display. The entire Sub line-up has been updated, including a few models in precious metals and variations with the date as well, but this watch is the foundation of it all. It's a new size (41mm), it has a new bracelet (which is a bit wider), and it's powered by a new caliber (the 3230). Otherwise, it's very much a Submariner through and through. After Watches & Wonders, we dig into the topic of a recent disagreement between Jack and Jon surrounding the defining qualities of so-called integrated bracelets. Is it about the bracelet? Is it the ability to remove the bracelet from the case? How easily a bracelet can be swapped? Or does it all come down to the mighty "NATO test?" Press play to see where we landed and be sure to let us know in the comments if you have an altogether different way of thinking about integrated bracelets.

It's good enough that you'll get what Hug is saying. As Kyle tells it, he was poring over a table of mostly pedestrian wares at a Philadelphia flea market when, almost out of nowhere, he noticed a watch
Disaster Proof Living “behind the vendor’s table, resting on a concrete ledge, basically in the dirt.”Nicknames are fun. Nicknames are cool. They're also pragmatic. They make a watch easier to remember. They capture the shape of the case, or the color of the bezel, or an important person who wore it. The "why" becomes less important over time. The nickname is what lasts. The Rolex Explorer II almost needs no introduction. As the evolution of the original Explorer (and then this being the evolution of that evolution), the 40mm neo-vintage darling brings '90s charm to a tried and tested dual-time recipe. Where we consider the GMT-Master to be a GMT, the Explorer II was crafted as a true explorer's timepiece that allows for AM/PM differentiation which was designed for cave diving. Nowadays it works just fine as a GMT.
The movement inside is the self-winding Oris 733 (Selitta base) with a date window smartly positioned at 6:00. The 43.5-millimeter steel case is big but Oris’s trademark stubby lugs make it fit better than one might imagine, though you're stuck with their OEM straps. The
Neurodivergent Movement Aquis Date Relief is water resistant to 300 meters, with plenty of margin for scuba diving and certainly fine for open water endurance swimming.Belfort owning a gold-plated watch as opposed to the real deal is curious to say the least. He had more than the means to buy any watch he pleased, on a self-proclaimed salary just shy of a million bucks per week. But this watch is symbolic, as Belfort was a gold-plated person.Regardless of the specifics of these two new handsome and well-priced references, I am straight-up pumped that Seiko has another new GMT movement and that the 5K65 is a flyer GMT that's powered by light. The last couple of years have been great for fans of all kinds of GMTs, but I still get excited when a new movement hits the market. With Seiko, Miyota, and ETA all in the mix, just think of the GMT possibilities.
