Kent Tekulve Jersey . - Myles Bell scored twice, including 2:24 into overtime, as the Kelowna Rockets came from behind to defeat the host Brandon Wheat Kings 6-5 on Friday in Western Hockey League play. The Rockets trailed 5-3 with less than a minute to play in the third period, but Ryan Olsen scored at 19:22 and Bell forced overtime with Kelownas second goal 29 seconds later. Zach Franko had a goal and two assists for the Rockets (25-3-2), who extended their win streak to nine games, while Rourke Chartier and Kris Schmidl each scored once. Cody Corbett, Lane Bauer, Mitchell Moroz, and Brett Pollock also scored for the Eastern Conference leading Oil Kings (22-9-1) while Reid Petryk and Aaron Irving picked up two assists apiece. Tristan Jarry made 26 saves. Griffin Foulk, Reid Duke and Jamal Watson replied for the Hurricanes (5-26-4), who have dropped eight of their last 10. Corbin Boes started the game for Lethbridge but was replaced by Teagan Sacher after allowing four goals on 20 shots through the first period. Sacher made 20 of 23 saves over 40 minutes of action. --- REBELS 4 ICE 0 CRANBROOK, B.C. — Patrik Bartosak made 35 saves and Brooks Maxwell had two goals and an assist as Red Deer blanked Kootenay. Brady Gaudet and Conor Bleackley both had a goal and an assist for the Rebels (25-26-2). Bleackley opened the scoring for Red Deer at 2:58 of the first period, and Maxwells two goals put the visitors up 3-0 in the third period. Gaudet closed out the game with a short-handed, empty-net goal with 13 seconds to play. Kootenay (17-16-2) goalie Mackenzie Skapski made 26 saves in the losing effort. --- HITMEN 7 TIGERS 0 CALGARY — Brady Brassart scored three times and Chris Driedger made 27 saves as the Hitmen shutout Medicine Hat. Jake Virtanen and Brady Brassart each scored twice for Calgary (20-7-5), which is 7-0-1 in its last eight outings, while Virtanen tacked on an assist for a three-point night. Greg Chase also chipped in with three assists. Chad Labelle was a team-worst minus-4 for the Tigers (19-10-3). Medicine Hats Daniel Wapple allowed five goals on 29 shots before getting pulled late in the third period. Christopher Tai replaced Wapple and stopped 5-of-7 shots in six minutes of relief. --- COUGARS 5 AMERICANS 1 KENNEWICK, Wash. — Todd Fiddler scored the games first goal and then added one more in the second period as Prince George toppled Tri-City. Jansen Harkins and Klarc Wilson had a goal and an assist apiece for the Cougars (12-17-5) and Aaron Macklin added a single goal. The Americans (17-14-3) got their loan goal from Connor Rankin. Troock opened the scoring in the first period and then broke a 2-2 tie with a power-play goal at 7:36 of the third. Justin Hickman also scored for the Thunderbirds (20-9-4).
