Cognitive performance refers to the brain's cognitive functions and how efficient you are with them. Memory, for example, is a cognitive function of your brain and it is, as you can imagine, quite important. Long-term memory is associated with the hippo campus area of the brain which is located in the center of your brain. It appears that nutrition can influence cognition or cognitive performance in other words. Well, believe it or not, food and even physical activity have influence over such things, and i will talk a little about this. It is quite simple, the nutrients in food are like tools or ingredients that your brain needs to produce its own chemicals which it uses in thought processes, emotions, as energy, to repair itself and so on. Neurotransmitters, for example, are built from iron, amino acids and proteins among other things. Iron is a part of many proteins in the body, and the human body cannot produce iron for itself so it has to get it from medicine, supplements or food.
Fish, for example, is rich in iron. Amino acids and proteins are also found in foods. There are a total of 20 amino acids, 10 essential and 10 non-essential. Non essential amino acids are naturally produced by your body, but the essential ones are called so because your body can't naturally produce them. They can, however, be found in certain foods, although it is rare that a protein contains all 10 of the essential amino acids. Addium Free Trial, for example, which is found in the liquid that is left from cheese production, does contain all of these 10 essential amino acids, which are very healthy for your body and for performance. Nootropic supplements work similar to how food works, they can help improve thew health and thus, performance of your brain through the use of their ingredients like vitamins, amino acids and so on. They promote neurotransmitter production, better blow flow and oxygen delivery to the brain and so on. Physical activity has similar effects on the body because it can improve blood circulation and provide more oxygen and it can promote better mood and decrease depression, pain as well as stress or increase stress coping.
