If I had to compare the adidas Gazelle Adidas ZX 700 Homme France to another shoe, the closest I could come up with is the Saucony Hattori LC. Both are crazy comfortable shoes with a stretch upper, and both feel great on the run. If it weren¡¯t for the hot spots I get in the Hattori¡¯s under the balls behind my big toes I¡¯d have a really tough time recommending one over the other, but given that issue for me the Gazelles are the more versatile shoe. Both are fantastic for walk around use and short runs, but I can do ten miles in the Gazelles (including speed work) with no problems and that tips the scales.

In terms of weight, the Hagio comes in at just over 6oz, so definitely in the lightweight category, though not quite as feather-like as the sub-4oz Mizuno Universe. This is definitely a shoe built for running fast, but my early experience with them leads me to believe that they might hold up for longer distance races as well. My longest run in them so far is 8.5 miles, and I felt no unusual fatigue or soreness. I could easily see running a half marathon in these shoes, and might even consider a marathon with a proper amount of acclimation.

It¡¯s important to kee Adidas ZX 750 Homme Vente p in mind that the comparison here was between shoes that only differed in their midsole material, everything else was the same. There is no detail about which Boost shoe was used, what the midsole dimensions were, etc. So it¡¯s very difficult to compare economy gained running in a Boost shoe to any other shoe on the market. As an example, previous research has shown that reducing shoe weight by about 3.5 oz (100g) results in an economy improvement of about 1%. So if the shoe used was the 9.3 oz Energy Boost, then it might not be any more economical than say the 5.7 oz adidas Gazelle. The benefit would be that you get the improved economy with additional cushioning in the Boost.

Because of the firmness of the sole, ground feel is quite good, and the grippy outsole pattern under the forefoot works great out on the roads.
