I have an interesting thought on what Adidas could do differently in order to establish a thorough cushioned feel in all of their Boost midsole shoes all the way from the heel-forefoot. Note: I¡¯m pointing this out because, as you said, the Boost midsole shoes have too much of a dramatic heel-toe offset so that you only get that great cushioned feel if you¡¯re a heel striker.
Pete, in your experience, can a ¡°race dynamic torsion plate¡± ?? as you can find on the Adios Boost can interfere with the natural work of the arch and then lead to injuries ?
Nice! Yeah, I ordered a pair as well. Been on the fence with them at the $140 price range, but I¡¯ve heard good things and agree that at $85, seems like a good buy. All the best.
Adidas LA Trainer Homme Boutique So what do I like about the adios Boost? Mainly that it runs really smooth and disappears on my feet. The heel is very soft, and the forefoot is firm, and this is a combo that I like in a lot of shoes (already mentioned the 1400, but also the Newton Energy). I tend to land on the midfoot or very lightly on my heel and a soft heel makes for a very smooth transition for my stride (whereas a firm, inflexible heel like in the Mizuno Sayonara just doesn¡¯t work with my stride). The firm forefoot feels great when picking up the pace. I much prefer the Adios Boost sole as compared to the overall firmer sole of the Adios 2.
Intriguing research. I¡¯ve put about 150 miles on my pair of Boost and haven¡¯t noticed much difference either. I feel faster, though I will say that when it comes to improved energy return, I believe that distance runners have to keep a lot of other variables in mind (e.g. carb intake, adequate sleep, proper hydration). If one of these elements are highly off, I don¡¯t believe a shoe even like the Boost can salvage a poor run. Vente Adidas Tech Super Homme
All of this translates to a shoe that handles the more technical demands of trail and even mountain running because it is more flexible and deals with uneven terrain better than the adios 2 (which I also use on trails, both Boost and adiprene versions), but also runs like a road shoe when the trail smooths out. Not a lot of trail shoes can strike this balance very well! The ride is, by far, the biggest selling point of the shoe and is what sets i Adidas ZX 700 Homme France t apart from many other lightweight trail shoes on the market.
