"Helping The World DISCOVER THE WAY of LOVE!"

Most everyone knows about or has seen demonstrated the tearing in half of phone books. It is a pretty tough thing to do and requires strong forearms and grip. But there is a technique to use that will make it easier to do. If you are new to grip strength training or you know you are not yet ready for Bar Brothers Review a phone book you can start with something smaller. Tearing magazines, small paper books etc. will help build some strength and give you chance to practice technique.

To start tearing a phone book or any other book you may try, grasp the book at the top with your hands far enough apart that your little fingers is out near the edge. Place your thumbs onto the book at the center and push down and grip the book with the last two fingers of your hands. With your thumbs push the book so it forms a U shape. Now grip the book with all of your fingers really tight and bend downward on the book.

As you bend the book this way you can see how the pages thin out on top. Bend down really hard and those pages should rip apart, as they do continue bending, shifting your grip if needed. As more pages tear you can start to pull up with one hand and down with the other to rip on through, a strong grip is needed here.

There are a number of ways you can test your grip strength, one of those is the Grip Dynamometer. This is used to check the muscular strength by giving a digital readout as you squeeze the grips. You check your readout against a chart to see what your performance is. You could use this to check your progress to see if your grip strength has been improving.

Another and more fun way took check your grip strength is to actually test it with heavy stuff. You might have started your grip strength training being able to pick up a 20 pound dumbbell with a pinch grip on the end, now you can pick up 40 pounds. You need to progressively go up to a heavier weight to keep challenging your muscles.

If you use a sledge hammer for wrist curl or lever type workouts, you may have had to choke up on the handle so you could lift it. As time goes by you should be moving your hand back towards the end of the handle to make it more difficult.

If you use the 'Captains of Crush" hand grippers you could be testing your grip with the next tougher gripper from what you are now using. Many people get certified on the

and the No. 4 grippers. There are rules you need to follow for certification so if you are using "Captains of Crush" grippers why not get certified.

Testing your strength by these methods is more fun and more of a real life kind of thing to do instead of using a dynamometer. You know exactly what you are capable of.
