OTTAWA -- Jason Spezza always believed he could score in the shootout and on Monday he was finally able to prove it. Netherland Soccer Jersey . Spezza scored the lone goal in the shootout to give the Ottawa Senators a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. This was Ottawas first shootout win of the season after losing their four previous attempts. "Id been good in the shootout historically," said Spezza. "You take pride in that stuff and especially when youre losing games. There was definitely a little extra fist pump and it felt good." Spezza wasnt the only one feeling relief at winning in the shootout as Craig Anderson was clearly elated after stopping Sean Couturier to seal the win. "Its about time," said Anderson, who made 25 saves. "I think weve been in this situation a few times and havent been on the right side of that and (Monday) we find a way to get two points and thats really all that mattered. Youve got to be excited about two points." Clarke MacArthur struck twice for the Senators (12-14-5) in regulation time. Patrick Wiercioch and Kyle Turris also scored for Ottawa. Michael Raffl, Jakub Voracek, Luke Schenn and Kimmo Timonen scored for the Flyers (13-14-3). Steve Mason stopped 30 shots. With the win the Senators put an end to a five-game losing streak on home ice. "Home ice has been a struggle and we want to give the people something to cheer about," said Spezza. "Weve been frustrated with the fact we cant win and it was nice to finally send the fans home happy." Turris gave the Senators a 4-3 lead with his first in eight games as he carried the puck from his own end, moved in along the side boards and fired a shot that went in off Luke Schenn at 8:21 of the third. The lead was short lived as Timonen tied the game with his second of the season with a floater from just inside the blue-line. Trailing 3-2, the Senators tied the game early in the third as a Bobby Ryan rebound went in off MacArthur for his second of the night. "Anytime you go in the third period with a lead you want to keep it," said Flyers captain Claude Giroux. "You want to make sure everyone is accountable for what they do and they were able to get a couple of goals. We fought back and got a point, but its tough to lose in a shootout." MacArthur now has 11 points (seven goals, four assists) in his last ten games. "(MacArthurs) probably been our most consistent guy all year," said Spezza. "Even at the start of the year when he wasnt scoring you just knew it was a matter of time and now that he is hes driving us offensively and doing a lot of great things. Hes been a heck of a pick-up." Ottawa got off to a better start in the second and was able to take the lead on a power-play goal. Ryan made a back pass to Wiercioch who scored on an open net to make it 2-1. While the Senators will definitely take the two points they admit there remains a lot of room for improvement. "It was good to get rewarded," said MacArthur. "Were still sloppy in some areas. We still can play better, weve still got to play harder if we want to win every night." The Flyers regained the lead with two goals in less than a two-minute span midway through the period. Voracek tied the game on a power-play goal and shortly after that Luke Schenn made it 3-2 with a shot from the boards. Anderson, with traffic in front, never even reacted to the shot until he heard the crowd of 15,786. Raffl, with his first NHL career goal, gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead at the eight-minute mark of the first. "Its nice to get the first goal, but it would be even nicer with the win," said Raffl. "Its kind of disappointing at the same time." Ottawa did manage to end the period tied 1-1. Spezza fed MacArthur who broke in alone on Mason and was able to get a stick on a bouncing puck to pick up his tenth of the season. This was the final meeting between the two teams this season with the Flyers winning the series 2-1. With three games in the next five nights the Senators see an opportunity to gain ground in the standings. "This is a great week for us to get some points," said MacArthur. "If we want to get back in the hunt youve got to string some games together so thats what it comes down to." Notes: D Eric Gryba and C Mike Hoffman were healthy scratches for the Senators. a The Flyers were without C Vincent Lecavalier (back fracture, indefinitely). LW Tye McGinn was recalled from the AHLs Adirondack Phantoms and was a healthy scratch Monday as were D Erik Gustafsson and D Hal Gill. David Alaba Jersey . Now, with Game 6 set for Fenway Park and an 8:07 p.m. ET first pitch, the Detroit Tigers face the unenviable task of having to beat the Boston Red Sox twice, on the road, to advance to the World Series. Claudio Reyna Jersey . Los Angeles star goalie survived those perilous gymnastics with no problem, and he eventually backstopped the Kings to a skid-snapping win. Quick stopped 27 shots in his return from a 24-game injury absence, Jeff Carter scored the tiebreaking goal with 7:55 to play, and the Kings snapped their five-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night. http://www.thesoccerfanshop.com/FC-Bayern-Munich/Patrick-Weihrauch-Jersey/ . This should be celebrated because it will not always be this way. With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season.BEREA, Ohio - Already dealing with cornerbacks, double coverage and defences targeting him, Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has spent the past month trying to shake free from trade rumours. Its been exhausting. "Im tired of it," Gordon said. With Tuesdays NFL trade deadline approaching, Gordon remains the subject of speculation that wont go away. The talented second-year receiver with All-Pro potential has become a coveted commodity, and as he prepares for Sundays game at Kansas City, Gordon doesnt know if it will be his final one with the Browns (3-4). "I honestly wish if it was going to happen, I wish it would happen already instead of dragging on," he said. "If a trade offer came in and thats what the Browns want to do, so be it. If not, then let it be known this is where Im going to be. Its part of the game. Im dealing with it." Browns coach Rob Chudzinski has insisted the Browns wont trade Gordon. CEO Joe Banner recently said he would be "completely shocked" if the Browns traded the 22-year-old, but the team has continued to receive offers for Gordon, who has 27 catches for 450 yards and two touchdowns in five games. Clevelands trade of running back Trent Richardson last month to Indianapolis for a first-round pick underscored the teams willingness to build for the future, and Gordon understands he might not be a part of it. "Ultimately its up to Joe Banner and (owner) Jimmy Haslam and the guys up top, but I do feel comforted in my head coach wants me to be here," Gordon said. "But the reality of it is anybody can make a deal and theyre saying theyre open to listening to people, so anything can happen." Gordons off-field issues could play a role in whether he stays in Cleveland. He was suspended for the first two games this season for violating the NFLs substance-abuse policy, and its his understanding that another failed drug test could result in a one-year suspension. Gordons checkered past could prompt the Browns to move him before he makes another mistake. But his background may make teams leery of taking a chance on him. It appears to be a gamble either way. Also, there have been questions about Gordons commitment and whether he always gives 100 per cent effort. Last week in Green Bay, Gordon had just two catches for 21 yards and his performance included a mistimed jump on a 4th-and-15 play when he failed to extend his arms and had the ball knocked away by a Packers defender. GGordons body language wasnt good, and it may have been because the trade talk had affected his play. Jan Kirchhoff Jersey. "I would think it would bother him," said running back Willis McGahee. "From what Ive seen, I think he wants to be here. Im hoping he wants to be here. When you hear youre about to get traded your spirits change a little bit, but the only thing I can tell him is that its a business and anybody is expendable. Just got out and do your job. Do what you do. Dont let people see you all bent out of shape and things like that." McGahee, who signed with Cleveland last month following the Richardson trade, said Gordon would benefit from having a veteran player to mentor him. Hes confident that at some point Gordon will mature into a dependable professional. "Everybody gets it. It just depends on when," McGahee said. "I didnt get it until my fourth or fifth year. And I was like, All right, Ive got to start eating right and got to start doing this. Thats part of life. Thats part of growing. He has the talent. You can see it in him. Hes going to put it together in a minute." Browns offensive co-ordinator Norv Turner doesnt doubt that Gordon has been giving his all. He knows there may be times when it appears the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder is coasting, but its not because hes not trying. "Everyone wants Josh to be the Josh when hes at his best. I do, Josh does, everyone does," Turner said. "Ive been with young receivers and I dont know that thats realistic. Hes working hard. Josh is making great progress and the young receivers that Ive been around, its in the third or fourth year when you start seeing all of those things happen." It remains to be seen if theyll happen for Gordon in Cleveland. NOTES: Browns defensive co-ordinator Ray Horton predicted that his unit, which has given up 62 points in the past two games, will bounce back. "I know what my vision is and where were at on the field and in the classroom," he said. "I just think youll see a different Cleveland Browns defence moving forward." ... McGahee did not practice, as routine maintenance for his knees. ... RT Mitchell Schwartz is excited about playing against his big brother, Geoff, an offensive lineman for the Chiefs. "Well never face each other, so its not like a weird thing where one of us has to block each other," said Schwartz, adding his mom has a jersey thats half Browns, half Chiefs. cheap jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys Ray Ban Outlet Michael Kors Outlet Michael Kors Sale Cheap Michael Kors ' ' '
