The latest converse all star collaboration releases today at just four locations worldwide. Chaz Bojorquez’ First String 1970s Chuck Taylor arrives in San Francisco where he’s making an in-store appearance at the Converse store grand opening, two shops in Asia and a single European retailer. This means his blacked out canvas and leather construction will be in high demand and thereby provide some exposure for the LA-based artist’s ‘Cholo’ handstyles and his ‘Señor Suerte’ character. This upcoming drop of the Converse Aero Jam Mid, comes in various hues of purple, inspired by ‘Bupkus’, the alien who took Johnsons basketball skills in the movie. The shoe also has touches of safari detailing on the heel and strap and is finished off with a semi-translucent outsole.

Legendary LA-based graffiti artist Chaz Bojorquez has been called the ‘Godfather of Cholo Style Letters’, a title that reflects his experience in since the 1960s. Bojorquez championed a unique blend of Mexican-American style with Asian calligraphy influence, a vantagepoint whose elegance is reflected in this new Chuck Taylor collab. The Chaz Bojorquez x converse all star uk is done in black with an all-white sole, adding the artist’s ‘Senor Suerte’ skull on the tongue along with hexagonal eyelets and Chaz’ John Hancock on the insoles.
