Thankfully, it's recommended to eat the whole egg now, not just the white! The yolk of the egg contains cholesterol along with many important nutrients. This shift in thinking also means we're no longer afraid of saturated fat, which is found in red meat and cheese. High saturated fat was a major reason recommendations included eating lean meat rather than cuts with more fat. Now we know there are some benefits to eating fat. Fat is more satiating than carbohydrates, so eating it helps you feel fuller and eating less throughout the day. Fat doesn't raise blood sugar, and it's essential for our cells to function properly. Few people can actually meditate successfully, so stick with it until you are seeing the benefits. If for whatever reason you cannot meditate, simply sit and breathe deeply for 5 to 10 minutes prior to bed.
