It’s spartan and simple – generic even – but certainly nicely executed. In fact, that same statement could be said of almost every element of the Heritage.Each model has a five-digit reference number engraved on the bottom caseback. The serial number is engraved immediately after the reference. Sometimes, you'll also see a hand-engraved stock number below the reference and serial, which would've been specific to the local Cartier branch where the watch was sold. The serials for each reference are sequential (e.g., 0001–10,000), which means production numbThe movements are not the selling point of these '70s Cartiers. Inside most are simple manual wind, ETA moveNot every reference will have all of these dial types, and some can have additional variations within these marks. For example, I've only seen Tortues with later Mark 3 dials, which suggests the model wasn't introduced until the late '70s. When Cartier relaunched the Santos collection in 2018, the immediate response was fantastic. Since then, Cartier has slowly rolled out updates in the form of new case and dial combinations and even the addition of a chronograph to the range. This year's big focus for Cartier fausses Richard Mille rm 030 is on the new Pasha collection, but they're not leaving the Santos-lovers among us hanging. Here we've got the most modern-looking Santos yet, a version of the time-and-date Santos in a sleek all-black colorway.Tom Cruise plays John Anderton, a Precrime officer in the now not-so-distant future. He wears a large timepiece that at first glance looks to be a chronograph, at second glance, an Omega chronograph, and at third glance a very specific ana/digi Omega Chronograph with certain spacefaring bonafides. I'm referring to the X-33, which is precisely what Anderton's watch appears to be.I've learned that metal G-Shocks (and I assume the Tough Silicone band will suffer from the same issue) work much better for me when not in high-polish finishes. These watches can get LOUD, maybe even more so in a steel finish than gold – as counterintuitive as that sounds – but maybe that's your speed more than mine. Or perhaps you're just feeling nostalgic for the 90s vibes these watches give off.


The Aquis is a darling diver from indie brand Oris. It's a design that Oris has taken in dozens of directions, most recently by letting fans weigh in on the design.
