"Helping The World DISCOVER THE WAY of LOVE!"

Is it worth playing into World of Warcraft’s Cataclysm Classic?

You know that feeling you get when you flip through cable channels or an endless Netflix menu and you're like, ``Nothing's going to hit you?'' I've been feeling that way lately with World of Warcraft. There have never been as many versions of the game as there are now, and none of them are what I'm looking for in this MMO.

Once you've narrowed your choices down to the "classic" side of the equation to some degree, you'll end up getting more than a little burned out on all its variations, including Vanilla and Discovery Seasons. But every time I turn my attention back to my usual WoW Classic, I really stop to feel anxious about the impending future. That's what I want to talk about today. Because you are probably in the same situation.

Normally his WoW Classic situation is as follows: Wrath Classic was in a good position thanks to the inherent quality of WoW's second expansion. We've built a solid game with lots of content and quality of life features. For me, this is a much more satisfying version of the game than vanilla, without the distortion of replacing the old classic feel with a modern design.

But Wrath is over, and in a few weeks, whether we like it or not, we'll be plunging into Cataclysm's beta and pre-patch.

This is where Blizzard was at fault. I can see why the studio is pushing ahead with a third expansion. It's not what I wanted to do, but I understand. The problem is that the studio doesn't give us a choice whether we want to remain in the Wrath era or not. Either we follow suit or we're out of the game, heading for the classic era or retail.

I know I needed yet another server to juggle, but if I had created a world where the upper limit of the game was limited to Wrath of the Lich King, the Cataclysm Conundrum would have been solved. It would have been. Despite brave statements to the contrary at BlizzCon last year, Blizzard is well aware that many Classic and WoW players have no love for Cataclysm and won't jump into it unless forced to. think.

I really hope the time traveler comes back from a few years in the future and shows us what the studio is doing throughout WoW Classic. Because I don't think Blizzard has any ideas right now. All the signs are showing that you're throwing things at the wall and hoping something will work out.

On a personal level, the question every classic player must answer is whether it's worth revisiting Cataclysm. Even if you have a grudge against this expansion, it's not easy to walk away from characters and guilds that you may have strong attachments to. He's probably been playing the character for years now, since 2019, but he doesn't want that journey to end, even if that journey is about to enter No Man's Land.

I've heard multiple players offer comforting words to the effect that "Cataclysm is a stepping stone to Mists of Pandaria Classic, and the temporary pain will be worth it." In that respect, I think we really have knowledge about the future. If he expects the economy to expand in a year or two, he may be able to drink Cata now.

I have about 3 zones of Shaman in Fury, and I'm happy that her gameplay is engaging and the current expansion is a good fit for classic WoW. But it's difficult, if not impossible, to look ahead and think about it, especially when you're spending so much time with this character.

Perhaps it's really just a journey, nothing more, nothing less. After all, there's not much you can carry with you during this game's expansion, aside from cosmetics, vehicles, and pets.

Another consideration is the fact that the retail industry will be promoting a brand new expansion later this year, just when Cata Classic players may be losing momentum and looking for entertainment alternatives. Unexplored countries with great promise are attractive.
