Ramblings: All-Star Game shouldn't be for everyone

Let’s be honest: There’s going to be far, far too much time spent discussing the new All-Star Game format.

We don’t mind it, though how anyone expects six forwards and three defensemen to keep up any kind of pace for one 20-minute game, let alone two for the winners of the preliminary contests, is beyond us and Cheap NHL 16 Coins.

The change to a four-team format of three-on-three hockey has already been a success, if generating discussion about the moribund event is any barometer. But isn’t it time for the NHL to let go of the wearisome policy of requiring at least one player from each team in the event?
