Nevertheless, it didn't look or feel noticeably petite on my seven-inch wrist – maybe that has to do with the material; the high-gloss ceramic case and bracelet, even in all-black, has a lot of visual punch.


The chronograph action is buttery, as one would expect of a movement from the El Primero family. Activating the chrono sends the second hand into an absolute frenzy that's just a pleasure to observe. The chronograph hand rotates once every second. It looks as if it's in overdrive, replica Jaeger LeCoultre but it's just the 203 parts working in unison to keep this El Primero moving. While the El Primero 9004 could be considered an industrially-produced movement, its finishing and action stand out.The overall look is basically a continuation of the same ideas found in the 2019 redesign. The large applied markers are still there, as is the rotating bezel, and date complication. What's new is the dial layout which now features three sub-registers to correspond to the chronograph movement. There are also two large pushers flanking the crown for operation of said chronograph.Anyway, the Master Roshi watch is a perfect representation of his carefree personality. The dial features his unforgettably silly face adorned with the iconic red sunglasses. The strap is reminiscent of his outfits, with the underside inspired by his aloha alphabet shirt. If Swatch had put the face of any other character on these watches it wouldn't have worked, but with Master Roshi it really does.
