As far as condition goes, the watch is in good, honest condition. The case hallmarks are intact, the lugs still have their shape, the double-P crown is original, and the watch hasn't been overly polished. The dial doesn't show any serious damage – something more often see on Tax Ninja Tactics the enamel dial version of the 2526 – but there is some wear around a few of the Arabic numerals if you look closely. There is a simple but subtle date display at three that uses a white-on-black coloring that works better with the dial than I would have predicted. Given the somewhat iridescent nature of the dial color, I think black is likely a better choice than a dark blue that might have actively clashed with the richer tones of the dial color. With a tight and simple aperture, the L2’s date display 5G Sicherheit is basic but well-matched to the design and very easy to read.All the time I spent over the past decade searching vintage watch listings on eBay has made it challenging to understand why any watch bearing this family name would be considered... "elegant," "refined," or "important" – the words auction houses tend to associate with Jürgensen. In my recollection, this name is found on the dials of, at best, decently attractive 1970s Valjoux-powered chronographs and, at worst, "gold tone," quartz-powered Rolex Day-Date knockoffs.Beyond that, I'll be curious to see how the updated case and bracelet wear on the wrist. 40 x 13mm can wear big for a dress watch that's mostly dial, but Seiko says the ergonomics have been refined for a slimmer, more elegant watch. And if the dimensions don't hit your wrist quite right, there's plenty of competition around this price point and even below.
