Deepwater Scarecrow Wool Festival
The successful 3rd annual Deepwater Scarecrow 1st Annual Wool Festival, a free family community oriented event, held from 3 to 11 November proved popular with locals and visitors alike.
The villagers created some 57 wonderful scarecrows uggs on sale for women in clearance fox fur with one particular creation voted as both the People's Choice and the Guest Judge's favourite Sharyn Rhodes Rick McCowen were presented the two trophies for their Revenge scarecrows from guest judge Peter Teschner Manager of Tourism and Events in Glen Innes.
We are grateful to the market stall holders for attending and the RFS for their sausage sizzles. The Deepwater Bakery for baking the scarecrow sheep biscuits. The Deepwater 'Scarecrow Bus de Tour' drivers tour guides for taking visitors on a delightful and fun tour of the village that enabled those on board to meet our local scarecrows, locate garage sales along the trail and view our bloomin' open gardens in comfort. They travelled from as far away as the Gold Coast, Sydney Inverell much to the delight of herbie fans
People choice award winners were presented with a trophy by Eyvonne Rizzo veteran competitor of many women ugg classic tall boots 5815 chestnut 1960 car rally including the 1964 Round Australia Ampol Trial in her own VW Beetle. 1st place Laurie Gwen Murray from Club VW Sydney
2nd place Dave Pam Mason from Inverell
3rd place John Rosberg from Inverell
Jody the Animals put on a show not to be missed titled "Gypsies Tramps Thieves in recognition of the history of Gypsy travellers that camped in Deepwater during 1930 to 1950 The beautifully brightly dressed 'gypsies', thief and talented horse kept the audience mystified.
The Emmaville Sheep Races gave visitors the opportunity to pet some friendly sheep of varying ages that were wearing racing colours pertaining to their annual event.
Kate of Fun2Play FacePaint and Party Balloons from Clarence Valley, gave kids (and big kids too) 'a change of face' with her brilliant face paintings.
The good old games like three legged races, egg spoon races and tossing the toy sheep dog into the pen competitions brought smiles to everyone. Of course there was classic short sparkles ugg boots clearance no 'cheating' in the adults events?
The popular wool bale rolling competition winners Jason Donna Jarrett were presented with a country Cheap UGG Boots On Sale shirt with festival monogram kindly donated by Elders of Glen Innes.
A picture is worth a thousand words and the Deepwater Art Group's Mini Art Exhibition at the historical Railway Station gave visitors a of just how talented our local 'strokes of art' are.
Daniel Skinner of CRT Deepwater kindly supplied a room to safely hold the 'Little bit Sheepish' display featuring beautiful fine clouds of champion local grown fleece set up by John Chappell of Dundee. The photo display acknowledged the history of classic short sparkles ugg boots clearance the area and the role our brave ol' pioneers played in the establishment of the local wool industry. Setting off the theme was a shearing demonstration by local Peter Stewart, wool spinning by Rosemary Boyle from Tenterfield and items made out of wool from The Ugg Boot Lady from Stanthorpe.
Children to the display were treated to free giveaways of CDs, colouring books posters while their parents admired the fine fleece, a Peep at Sheep Children Corner gave the children a hands on wool experience and play in a sheep puppet theatre.
