"Helping The World DISCOVER THE WAY of LOVE!"

I liked this watch when when I first saw it and noticed that it came with a steel case. Then I liked it a tiny bit less upon learning that that case was 42mm in diameter, which to my mind is simply too big for a watch so clearly designed with elegance and minimalism in mind. Still, at $63,000, there is a real case to be made for this quality Swiss tourbillon produced in only 20 examples. Many of us are in the midst of a nice, long weekend. For some, that means cookouts and beaches, and for others it means taking your sweet time with a truly meaty piece of watch writing. Since you're here, you're probably the latter, so allow us to point you in the direction of a classic Three On Three link where we compare the bountiful merits of manually wound, in-house chronographs from A. Lange & Sohne, Vacheron Constantin, and Patek Philippe. Our most on-the-nose selection today, this watch is designed specifically to help folks time their outdoor cooking with something called a Grill Bezel. We covered the watch and its Kickstarter in 2015, and it doesn't appear to be a going concern these days, but fun to revisit a playful time in watchmaking history. In 1959, Longines introduced the Super Compressor Diver ref. 7042. Like other dive watches of the era from brands like Universal Geneve, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and too many others that were lost to the sands of time, it used a "super compressor" case from Ervin Piquerez S.A. (EPSA). The case is defined by its internal rotating bezel and dual crowns, but it was actually patented because of its waterproofing tech, which further sealed the caseback as water pressure increased.

For the Serica 1174 Parade, you can choose between a black or brass-colored dial. In both cases, the dial has a sunburst finish link in combination with an S-curved guilloche pattern, and at each hour, there's a tiny applied marker. The Parade only has hands for the hours and minutes. They are polished and domed and have a leaf/sword shape.A beautiful (and huge) box, with a silver Snoopy lapel pin, a newspaper on the Apollo 13 mission, and a polishing cloth. The ZM 11 breaks much of the mold established by the ZM 1 and 2. Available in either titanium or steel, the ZM 11 is a 41mm sports watch from Leica that features a dial in either black/red (the Launch Edition), Coffee Black (brown gradient with gold-tone accents), or Midnight Blue, which has a blue dial with white metal accents.

While Gerald Charles doesn't designate this piece as an outright sports model, the all-weather 22mm royal blue vulcanized rubber strap hints at daily usability. These functions are regulated by the Omega 9900 caliber which offers the same link power reserve as the model above. You should be able to find a stainless steel JLC World Geographique (as pictured above) in the range of 7.The magnificent 47mm-wide pink-gold case houses an extremely complex hand-wound movement.
