The new dials provide the second-generation Formex Field
link with a more upmarket feel. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it is GADA since the case is very brutalist, but the dial execution lifts the watch out of pure tool-watch territory. It does so without compromising legibility, so it's all good with me! And, at US$870, this watch leaves very little to be desired. Kudos once more, Formex!Zenith has now created three watches inspired by grandson Lupin. Today we will be looking at the most recent watch, which is literally a mixture of the first two. I amI still think about those Submariners and Daytonas (I am only human). There is no "one watch to rule them all" in my fickle enthusiast's mind. But as prices climb and my priorities shift, I feel satisfied with my decision should I never I saw the press images for this watch and just knew I had to see it in person. I mean, how could I deprive you all of seeing live images of a 250-piece limited edition watch that will likely fade out of sight and mind once all pieces are spoken for?My only critique derived from using the FXD is that I'd maybe prefer to have numerals at all of "the fives" on the bezel. First, as a product, and second, as the beginning of a fascination which has claimed more than the last 10 years of my life. I know that it may seem that I have digressed, but I'll do my best to put the above context to use. There are a ton of variants of vintage Porsche Design Chronograph 1's – I saw about four of them at Rennsport at the end of September alone. But the coolest ones – just like with any watch, really – are undoubtedly the military variants. I rarely see a U.S. Air Force Tiger dial come up for sale in years of looking. They're cool, tough, mean-looking watches that match the vibe of the black-coated case. So, putting a screaming marmot on this new dial made me laugh out loud.
