Years passed and we barely link spoke to or saw each other. I was living in LA and he was a state away, in the desert. We didn't speak not because I didn't miss him, or love him, but mostly for self-preservation. I processed trauma related link to our relationship, healed my inner child (yes, it link works), and carried on. I wear a tattoo of a cherry bomb that says "Dad" on the banner. Fitting for his interests in fireworks and short fuse, but that is one of the only visual reminders I had of him.
