So here's the funny thing. Best Of Show link at Quail and at Pebble were both from Mercedes, both 540Ks, both from 1938, and, oddly enough, both with owners named Keller. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not – apparently, if you're looking for a win at Monterey Car Week, you could do worse than show up with a shockingly beautiful, supercharged pre-war two-seater (black for choice) with a link hood as long as an ocean liner. Wouldn't hurt your chances link to be named Keller, either.
