The manufacture caliber MB M16.31 is finished in a classical Swiss manner, by hand, with an in-house balance spring. The MB M16.31 link is based on an original 16 ligne Minerva caliber from the early 20th century that was designed for pocket watches. link Naturally, that means Montblanc's split-seconds chronographs are on the larger size, generally coming in around 44mm × link 14mm.

Vintage-style straps, with those two link characteristic big stitches, link came as link part of the larger vintage trend. They were followed by cleaner, flat straps with contrast stitching and, later, matching stitching. Not too long before, all higher-end watches came on alligator straps.
