Here's another interesting Speedmaster – lot 168 is a prototype produced circa 1995 link with a white dial and an odd red signature at six o'clock that reads "MONZA." The watch has no serial link number, so no extract is included with the watch, but Omega confirmed to Phillips that the watch is a legitimate prototype. How cool is that? The estimate on this offbeat Omega link is CHF 30,000 - 60,000.

As a tribute to something that didn't even happen – a dive watch representing the deepest of anemoia and the creation of a deep obsessive with a keen eye for detail and the heart of an enthusiast – I think the Aquastar Deepstar link II manages link to be special despite its link formation via an increasingly pedestrian outlook on watch design. I can't wait to see what they do next.
