My phone storage shows I have 2,458,624 bytes of space left. Is that a lot? I'm trying to figure out if I need to delete photos before downloading a new app.

Those raw byte numbers are basically impossible to interpret! Use this Bytes to MB converter to make sense of it. 2,458,624 bytes equals about 2.34 MB (megabytes). That's actually not much space at all in modern terms - most apps are tens or hundreds of megabytes, and photos can be 2-5 MB each. So you definitely need to free up space before downloading anything substantial. For context: a typical app ranges from 50MB to 500MB, a high-quality photo is 2-8MB, a minute of HD video can be 100MB or more. With only 2.34MB free, you're basically at capacity. Time for a cleanup! I'd recommend: 1) Delete apps you don't use, 2) Clear app caches, 3) Move photos and videos to cloud storage or your computer, 4) Delete old message threads with lots of media. For future reference: 1024 bytes = 1 kilobyte (KB), 1024 KB = 1 megabyte (MB), 1024 MB = 1 gigabyte (GB). Most phones these days have 64GB to 256GB of storage, so you should aim to keep at least a few GB free for smooth operation. Running at near-zero storage slows everything down!
