For most of my youth, the meaning of Memorial Day was lost on me. Both my grandfathers served in the Army, one at home and one in the Korean War, but they made it through and went on to pursue the American dream during the postwar economic expansion. I knew Memorial Day was about honoring those we've lost while serving, but I didn't genuinely internalize and understand what that meant until later in life. https://is.gd/APmf2T
