I honestly never thought I'd be writing one of these posts, but here we are, my 2016 California T has been my pride and joy since I bought it, and it used to handle like an absolute dream with that precise, confidence-inspiring steering that makes these cars so special, but over the last few months something has changed dramatically and it's starting to really worry me. The front end feels almost floaty at speed now, especially when I'm pushing it on those lovely sweeping corners on the way to Jebel Jais, and there's a vagueness on center that never used to be there, almost like the steering has lost that direct connection to the road that I fell in love with. I've checked the tire pressures, had the wheels balanced, and even done a visual inspection underneath, but I can't see anything obviously wrong, no leaks from the shocks or broken springs that I can spot. The car has done about 45,000 kms, which seems early for major suspension work, but I know these magnetic damping systems can be finicky and sometimes they start to degrade internally without showing any external signs of failure. I really don't want to take it to the dealer because I've heard some horror stories about the costs involved, but at the same time I'm not comfortable letting just any workshop touch such a sophisticated piece of machinery. I've been looking for a Premium Ferrari suspension specialist in Dubai because I want someone who actually understands the intricacies of these cars and has the proper diagnostic equipment to figure out what's going wrong, rather than just guessing and hoping for the best. Has anyone here experienced a similar deterioration in handling on their California or even a 458, and what ended up being the root cause? Was it the magnetorheological shocks starting to fail, or could it be something simpler like worn control arm bushes that are causing the geometry to shift under load? I'm really keen to get this sorted because the car is becoming less enjoyable to drive, and I hate that feeling of not trusting the car's responses when I'm pushing it even moderately hard. If you've had this work done, roughly what did it cost and how long did the workshop need the car for? I'd really appreciate any advice because this is genuinely taking the shine off my ownership experience.
