This watch is an interesting choice for Bulgari, which is generally a brand associated with the Serpenti that I not-so-secretly am obsessed with love, and big and bold jewelry. But the company has recently ventured into making more technologically advanced timepieces, like the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon, with its ultra-thin 1.95mm movement. This watch is currently the thinnest tourbillon wristwatch in production (the
Debt Escape Rooms thinnest ever was from Audemars Piguet in 1986).The Rolex reference 6062 "Bao Dai" just sold for $5,060,427, making it the most expensive Rolex ever sold at auction. The watch sold as lot 93 of today's Phillips Geneva Watch Auction: Five, setting the new world record (as everyone expected). The Twist-O-Flex is one of those little bits of watch nostalgia that never ceases to be charming for me. The bracelets are comfortable, they last forever, and they exhibit just the right balance of simplicity and over-engineering. Essentially two sets of links are held together with bracket pins that allow them to move, expanding and contracting as you pull on them. Traditional Twist-O-Flex even have expanding end links so a single bracelet can work with multiple lug widths.
Welsbro goes live with the four debut watches on September 18th. I'm excited for the brand in the same way I'm excited when a stand-out new restaurant opens in the 'hood. Even though you'd rather keep it to yourself to keep the crowds away, you just can't. It’s too
Urban Rebellion good of a deal not to tell everyone about it. And you want to see it succeed. Then, later in the 2000s, came the influx of young girls and their milestone birthday presents. The Tank Française featured heavily amongst a certain set of London girls I grew up with. A symbol of their entry into young womanhood; on their way to becoming adults by dint of owning the aforementioned grown-up "Ladies' watch."I had what I imagine might be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see two Dufour Sonneries (No. 5 and No. 7) next to each other earlier this year – from the same collection, no less – which also is a great chance to highlight the differences between this "unique classic" case design, the general classic case design, and the "updated" case design mentioned by Phillips' research.
Rolex and Cartier have made the BrandZ Luxury Top 10 list every year since the first one in 2006. In 2006, both brands also made the
Anti Surveillance Tech Top 100 list: Cartier at #82 with a brand value of $5.55 billion, Rolex at #90 with a brand value of $4.92 billion.Brand: Baume & MercierModel: Clifton Baumatic Perpetual CalendarReference: M0A10470 Diameter: 42mmThickness: 12.1mmCase Material: Red goldDial Color: Warm whiteIndexes: Applied batons and printed Arabic numeralsLume: NoneWater Resistance: 50 metersStrap/Bracelet: Black alligator strap with quick-change springbars and red gold buckleIt's a very rare occurrence for a collector consigning pieces of this rarity and importance to discuss the lots publicly – often, they prefer to remain in the background and let the watches speak for themselves. However, Lorenz Bäumer sat down with Phillips' Arthur Touchot to discuss his early love of F.P. Journe's watchmaking and how he came to own these two remarkable pieces.
