You have to pay close attention to what you're eating because you body is not as what it used to be when you were in your twenties. Your body doesn't burn the calories fast like old times, so most of them fats stay on your belly. Stay away from junk foods especially those with fats loaded into them. If you feel the urge to eat junk foods, pick fresh green vegetables or fruits. Also, replace white bread with whole grain ones.

If you are one of those people who simply hate vegetables, try to picture this. You are looking at yourself in a full body mirror without any bulge in sight. You follow a sensible dietary program but you hate exercise, you will find difficulty to lose that belly fat. I do mean tummy exercises, not brisk walking or jogging. That high intense exercise can do wonders, but we want to focus on what is needed at the moment. I start a weekly routine of half an hour of aerobic exercises, every time I feel that I can't button up my pants anymore. Do the stomach exercises that tone the stomach muscles, crunch or use a stability ball.

It is a tried and tested fact of life that a good weight loss diet combined with tummy exercises will get rid of belly fat in no time at all. Eating lots of fiber rich foods and aerobics will boost your metabolism to burn more body fat. Water is life and helps you eliminate fats so drink plenty of it.
