The main, or rather the ONLY reason Listen and Grow Rich most people are not performing as well as they could or should is one thing: We cannot say we lack money. This would be a lame excuse since banks are loaded with money. We cannot say we lack books - libraries are full of books, free books to be precise. We cannot say we aren't successful because we never graduated from high school or college - school is always there, it never ends, plus, there are plenty of advisors and teachers willing to help. We can't sit down and say "we're trying, but there are no opportunities". Opportunities are everywhere. We are surrounded by opportunities. Our own personal interests are opportunities.

As long as there is will, there will always be a way. "Everything we would ever need to become rich and powerful and sophisticated is within our reach." - Jim Rohn. Neglect is like a disease, a slow and dangerous infection. If left unchecked, it can spread through our entire "system of disciplines" and eventually lead our potential prosperous human life to collapse. When we don't do the things we know we should be doing, we feel guilty. Soon after, this guilt wears away our self-confidence. Then before you know it, the lack of self-confidence has diminished our level of activity - we are in no mood to do anything constructive at all. No motivation to do anything means our results (if any) suffer a great deal. Weak results equal to weak attitude. A weak attitude switches from positive to negative. In the end we have no confidence at all in ourselves.
